UART without extra wiring on stock Thinker SE Board?

Post by NightStorm1000 » Thu Oct 08, 2020 12:03 am

Hi.

Is it possible to use the Thinker SE Board and TMC Drivers in UART Mode without extra wiring?

I saw PIN Definitons for UART Usage while updating Marlin.

Code: Select all

#if HAS_TRINAMIC
  /**
   * TMC2208/TMC2209 stepper drivers
   *
   * Hardware serial communication ports.
   * If undefined software serial is used according to the pins below
   */
  #define X_HARDWARE_SERIAL  Serial1
  #define Y_HARDWARE_SERIAL  Serial1
  #define Z_HARDWARE_SERIAL  Serial1
  #define E0_HARDWARE_SERIAL Serial1

  // Reduce baud rate to improve software serial reliability
  #define TMC_BAUD_RATE 19200
#endif
Wich indicates Support for UART. Do I have to wire it to some PINs or does it Work over the Stepper Driver Port like on BigTree Boards?
