G29 codes?

Post by fathead328 » Tue Oct 13, 2020 4:35 pm

Hello. Just installed my BLTouch, updated my firmware and everything seems to be functioning. BL Touch responds after doing self-test (thanks to a post on here, I found out the wires were in the incorrect location) My question is what to use for G29 code in my Cur aprofile. I am confused after trying to read the posts on the Marlin site. Thank you!

Hi, fathead328
The G29 is used for sensor start do the auto bed leveling detect.
Let us make it simple:
When you have modified the Bltouch with the printer
1. Use the gcode to check the Bltouch works or not(Check)
2. Set the Z offset for it
3. Do the Auto bed level detect and start printing.
(If you don't use the G29 then it will skip the auto bed level detect and it will increase the deviation of the z offset)

Why we set the Bltouch to the printer?
Because we need the perfect first layer.

Then when the printer start printing, the printer will do the auto-tune z axis to make your first layer perfect!

Thanks William. I understand the premise of it, but I am not sure as to what to put in for the G29 line. Sorry, I am very new at this.

Hi,fahead328
You should add the G29 after the G28 then it will works.
The G28 means home all the axis (Origin).
