ABS : eryone Thinker SE

Post by gabortoulouse » Sun Apr 05, 2020 10:22 pm

Hi everybody
I'm just newbie in 3D printing and I would like to build a part for my car : a wiper cover.

So, I decided, reading informations, that I would use ABS.
I read that the bed should be between 95 and 110 degrees.

I bought a Thinker SE but I was not able to get a bed at 100° ; and at 95 degrees, the ABS does not stuck.
Note : I upgraded it to Marlin firmware 2.0 with the same result.

What can I do? I'm a newbie, so I'm wondering if I need to buy a better bed... ?

Thank you for your ideas.

Hi,
If you really need to print the ABS for something.
Then I suggest you use the big cartons to cover it.
Ok, so this is the simple solutions but it really helps.

If you are a hardcore player
Try to refer to this info:
1. Upgrade the PSU to 500W(24V output) instead of the 350W
The 350W PSU limited it a lot
2. Use the extend Mosfet for Heated bed
The stock mosfet of the heated bed is good but not very powerful. So when we upgraded the powerful PSU,
we can add it to fit the PSU.
3. Tune the heating time and temperature protection setting
4. Use the M303 gcode
auto-tune the PID and use the M301 to save it

5. Enjoy it~

Hello William,
First, I thank you for your answer ;-)
The idea of the carton is nice, I remembered I read that somewhere.
I tried, but it was not enough.

I was able to have the temp to 107 degrees, pre-heating the printer gradually.
But it was not enough and very difficult to obtain, certainly because of the 350W PSU.

1.
The PSU I bought (24 V – 20 A – 480 W) :
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B073GT ... MAHR&psc=1

2.
The mosfets I bought (May be I'll use the second one in the package for extruder) :
https://www.amazon.fr/Quimat-Puissance- ... B077HP7XX9
I'll do like this video shows (Hotbed only ATM, I'll see later for hotend) :
French :

English (same guy) :

3. Tuning heating time and temperature protection setting?
I'm not sure at all what this means. Could you please tell me more? Printer menu? Cura or other soft?

4. M303 gcode
I read a lot of things about this code, but I'm not sure what it really does : what is the purpose?

Thank you !

Hello William,

I received the stuff from Amazon. I'll mount it today or tomorrow.

Could you please tell me more about 3. and 4. ?

Thx.

Hi, that won't be a problem.
For the ponint3.
I can edit the firmware for you. Then you can upload it to your printer.

For the point4:
I will make a video then all be fine
;)

Hey William,

I already mounted everything and it works. Its a bit faster to temp the bed, but not as fast as I would like ;-)

Point.3
U can eventually tell me what to modify and I compile/upload the firmware. But i'll be happy if u do it and explain just a bit, as I could reproduce it in future ;-)

Point.4
I love your videos and your schematics!

Thx!
