[Tutorial]DLSR Time-lapse on your printing

Post by William » Fri Jul 05, 2019 12:01 pm

Hi, guys!Good day!
My last tutorial mentioned on how to use the go pro for your print time-lapse.
But the go pro 4 sliver still can't give me the satisfied result.
These are my plan:
1. I have a Fujifilm X-E1 but it doesn't have wifi feature
Ok.This tutorial is done, thanks to all your guys!
----------------------------------------------------------
Then I checking the instruction of X-E1
I've found the X-E1 can use the mechanical shutter release cable/remote control
Good news!
The first choice is the remote control part while it is expensive.
So I use the mechanical shutter release cable and it is cheap.

You can get it easy on your location(If your location doesn't sell it, you can also DIY one of it)
I am living in China and I got 1 of it only cost me 12.9RMB(Sales pay for the courier fees)
12.9RMB≈1.9 dollar

Ok. Then we need to create a holder stl file for the mechanical shutter release cable
1. You need to use a vernier caliper to measure its size

2. You need to use the fusion 360 or other design software draw one holder part
This is mine:

3. You need these and mount it to your printer
1)M4 X 12 screw,2
2)M4 Gasket,2
3)M4 T slot nut,2

4. Fix your DSLR with a tripod or anything else
Then insert the mechanical shutter release cable to your DLSR's port

5. Slice your STL file and set the layer change code
For me on S3D:

Code: Select all

G1 F9000 X230 Y260 ; Quick move to the first point
G1 F4000 X240 ; Move and hit the button
G4 P900 ; Wait for the snapshot
M117 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ;
These codes were basic on your printer.
You need to control your printer on manual mode then you need to record the point of it.
Then change your layer change code list

6. Remove off your SD card from your DLSR
Usually, the pics named like: IMG_1000......IMG_1001......etc
You can use the Adobe PR import >Select "Image sequence"
Then enjoy it~
